Writing across the lines - Gleeful writing, inner two year old style
« Back to blog

come take a walk with me

come take a walk with me,
see the world through the
eyes of magic and wonder

a leaf, still, dangling from
its branch, sun infused red,
bright farewell to summer

a dog, running through
a stack of leaves, dancing
laughter in canine form

the pond, sunlight filtered
through leaves, shining
like diamonds on its water

fresh autumn air fills our
noses, makes our lungs sparkle
with the delight of autumn

turn left, turn right, feet
going where the heart leads us
joyfully laughing, peacefully whole

Thank you for sharing this poem Tamlyn :-) I love the happy and peaceful images within it.

If I may I would like to share a poem I wrote many moons ago. Although I didn't know it at the time, it deal with the inner child in us all.

Warm Regards,

Steve

Children's Dreams

Oh my friend if could but see,
the things that little ones see in dreams.
On a far away world,
in a far away land,
fighting dragons and wearing silver armor
stands my little man.

My friend,
in this world we need an escape,
fear no fears when you sleep.
For in this world,
where there is much pain,
Elves and dragons may walk again.

For in every man there is a little boy,
in a woman a little girl,
and fantasy is a child's escape,
into an unknown realm.
