I finally love me

When I stand in front of the mirror
and smile at my self, the lioness
inside me smiles back, shining
through my eyes, pure love

She roars now, deep inside and
shares her self unmitigated by
the fears and emotions that used
to prevent the oneness I now feel

I am my true self now, a goddess
walking the earth with gentle steps
true love and compassion radiate
my soul's love towards the planet

Winter day - threesixfive day 6

Snow falls slowly, shimmering white
darting through the branches of
the old willow tree in my back yard
and packs down in the garden

The sun comes through, and for
a moment the white is almost
too bright, the tree seems to
light up with sparkling faerie dust

Snow blanket covers the earth,
and for a moment everything is
the perfection only winter can
give the earth in pristine crystals

The world seems so quiet now
as if all creatures breathe softly
slowly, like snowflakes darting
down from dark grey clouds

Yule

Merry Yule!

This is one of my favorite holidays, and as a celebration I give you a poem I wrote a long time ago, entitled: Yule :)

the cold of winter
the darkness of the
night. never ending
cycle seemingly

solstice, moment of
deepest darkness
and then the sun
rises, slowly

the light of day
welcomes the new
born god, his light
warms the earth

the Goddess smiles
in the promise of
warmth, lengthening
days, awaiting summer

The earth prepares
for a new cycle of
creation, growth
a new cycle of life

come take a walk with me

come take a walk with me,
see the world through the
eyes of magic and wonder

a leaf, still, dangling from
its branch, sun infused red,
bright farewell to summer

a dog, running through
a stack of leaves, dancing
laughter in canine form

the pond, sunlight filtered
through leaves, shining
like diamonds on its water

fresh autumn air fills our
noses, makes our lungs sparkle
with the delight of autumn

turn left, turn right, feet
going where the heart leads us
joyfully laughing, peacefully whole

twitter haiku's

Every once in a while I love to sit down behind twitter and write a haiku. 140 characters is perfect for that form of poetry :)

I am not a native english speaker, so I probably screw up my syllables at times, but that doesn't deter me from enjoying this tremendously :)

Here are a few for your reading pleasure.

soft breeze plays with the
willow's leaves, sunlight reflects
on my eyes, sheer bliss

no clue how many
syllables each word has, I
just haiku for fun

phone is not ringing
dell man promised to call
bad for his karma?

writer and yogi

This is a poem I freewrote in a trance last month. I know a female yogi is a yogini, but I am keeping the text as it was written.

Tapping from the same
Source
Muse whispers softly, the stillness
inspires me to find the true self
inside of me. I write, my hand, the
full expression of the yoga inside me,
soft breath flows as if it is, in itself, an asana

Peace
The pen glides over the paper. As I write, still
breeds within me as each word slides onto the
soft cream paper, as if the ink is the water
charging the beach that is my paper.

Compassion
The child inside me, the one who bought a
small book to write her big thoughts in
now can EXPRESS and I see she is,
in truth, my soul

Complete
I am, says the writer
with a smile, the
yogi smiles back
in
stillness
